2. How can I find out if my high school is eligible?
Any public, private, or charter school in an eligible Comcast community can nominate students for the Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program.  A list of all eligible communities can be found here.

3. Why do candidates need to be nominated by their principal?
In order to reach as many students as possible, all nomination materials for the Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program are distributed through the principal’s office of eligible high schools.  Principals have close interaction with both students and faculty, and play a vital role in identifying qualified students who would be ideal candidates.  All principals are encouraged to work with their school’s guidance office.

4. Do I need to be a Comcast subscriber to be eligible for the Leaders and Achievers® Scholarship Program?
No.  If you are a qualified senior attending high school in an eligible community served by Comcast, you can be nominated for a Leaders and Achievers scholarship.

5. How many students can be nominated by each school?
Each principal may nominate one student from an eligible school to be considered for a Leaders and Achievers Scholarship.

6. How can I find out about the status of my application?
All scholarship recipients are notified at the end of February each year.  Information about your application is not available through any Comcast office or The Comcast Foundation.

7. When will I receive my Leaders and Achievers Scholarship grant?
If you have been notified that you have been selected as a Leaders and Achievers Scholarship recipient, your grant will be mailed around June 30, 2008.  All grants will be made payable to the school you will be attending and sent to your home.

8. Who are the Scholarship Program Administrators?
Scholarship Program Administrators is a national scholarship management services organization that manages and administers all aspects of the Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program.  The Comcast Foundation works with the Scholarship Program Administrators to establish program goals and guidelines, and provide information on eligible schools.  The Scholarship Program Administrators coordinate all related mailings and correspondence, receive and review all nominations, and respond to inquiries from the public.

9. Are Comcast employees eligible for scholarships?
No.  Employees of Comcast, its subsidiaries and affiliates, and their families are not eligible.
